GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work at Road Dept. and Wastewater Treatment Plant as necessary. Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and systems. Performs a variety of un-skilled and semi-skilled technical maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the operation, repair, and maintenance. Work nights and weekends plowing snow and other emergencies. Operate tractors mowing parks and road sides. Ability to work weekends on a rotation basis for wastewater lab work and any alarms or call as they are received.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equal is required. Ability to obtain a DNR Basic Wastewater Operators License with subgrades in Biological Solids/Sludge Handling, Processing & Reuse, Biological Treatment: Suspended Growth Processes, Disinfection, Laboratory, Nutrient Removal: Total Phosphorus, and Solids Separation within three (3) years. Ability to obtain and hold a valid Class BCD CDL drivers’ license with an endorsement ‘N’ for tank vehicles within six (6) months of hire.

Prefer electrician, ARC GIS, CDL or diesel mechanic experience a plus.

Compensation: The Town offers full time staff members health insurance, participation in the state of Wisconsin WRS system for retirement, and a competitive benefits package. Starting wage for this position will be $25.95/hour per union contract.

Town of Beloit, WI (Pop 7,699) is seeking a part-time UDC Building Inspector to safeguard public health, safety, and general welfare by reviewing/ issuing permits and performing field inspections. This position performs enforcement-related functions necessary to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Town codes and ordinances. The work involves highly independent on-site inspections of building construction and existing properties within the Town of Beloit. The position is for up to 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Current Wisconsin UDC (Building, HVAC, Plumbing & Electric) inspection licenses required. Licensure in Commercial Building, Commercial Electrical, and Commercial Plumbing is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Starting pay:  $20.00 to $25.00/hour, depending upon qualifications.
