Violations vary in many different levels of importance when it comes to fire code. All violations are important and the code that applies to them has been developed with the safety of the property owner and the public in mind. We train our inspectors to convey as much information as possible when a violation is noted. When a violation is noted it very important to us that everyone understands the violation. Many violations are very simple to correct while others require an outside company to provide specialist work. Questions about specific violations can be submitted to the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Fire Inspections
The Town of Beloit Fire Department conducts fire inspections as a means of identifying and eliminating or reducing hazards which may result in life or property loss. Inspections also ensure that fire protection systems (sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, kitchen hood extinguishing systems, etc.) are maintained in good working condition. In the event of a fire, losses will be minimized through early detection and suppression. Code enforcement is a proactive and cost effective approach to community fire protection.
Annually, over 600 inspections are conducted by the Town of Beloit Fire Department. Personnel inspect approximately 300 properties. Commercial properties include residential buildings of 3 units or more, as well as retail, factories, warehouses, and office buildings.
